Level 1–2 classes are designed for students who have familiarity with yoga and are interested in progressing from Level 1 toward Level 2. These classes support students who are not quite ready for Level 2, yet are seeking more depth and independence than a Level 1 class provides. Students are expected to have working knowledge of foundational standing poses and basic inversions, and to be comfortable with common yoga terminology and set-ups.

Classes move at a steady pace and include a balanced progression of standing poses, forward bends, twists, backbends, and inversions. Instruction remains clear and thorough, but students are encouraged to organize themselves with increasing independence.

This is also can be an appropriate place to begin for students with substantial yoga experience who are new to Iyengar Yoga and ready to engage with its structure and precision.
