Level 1 is designed for people new to yoga, new to Iyengar yoga, or working on skills needed to progress to the next level. This class focuses on building a strong foundation in Iyengar Yoga through instruction in essential poses, sequencing, alignment, and the use of props. Students develop confidence, body awareness, and a clear understanding of the principles that support a safe and effective practice.

This class is not a remedial or senior-focused class; it is intended for students who are physically able to engage with standard beginner-level poses and sequencing. Level 1 provides attentive guidance so that students can practice safely and gain the skills needed to progress to more independent classes.

Level 1 classes prepare participants with a solid grounding in foundational poses, transitions, and terminology, and the confidence to continue exploring Iyengar Yoga in other classes.
