Level 1

Level 1 classes are designed for people who are new to yoga, new to Iyengar Yoga, or working on the skills needed to progress to the next level. This class focuses on building a strong foundation in Iyengar Yoga through instruction in essential poses, sequencing, alignment, and the use of props. Students develop confidence, body awareness, and a clear understanding of the principles that support a safe and effective practice.

This class is not remedial or senior-focused; it is intended for students who are physically able to engage with standard beginner-level poses and sequencing. Level 1 provides attentive guidance so that students can practice safely and gain the skills needed to progress to more independent classes.

Level 1 classes prepare participants with a solid grounding in foundational poses, transitions, and terminology, as well as the confidence to continue exploring Iyengar Yoga in other classes.

*The Tuesday Level 1 Lunch Break class is taught by students learning to teach and is supervised by Randy.
